Commission some Art

🎃 These prices have been carefully considered so that I can make a living wage off my art in proportion with the hours I put into each piece. I am being paid at a rate around $20/hr. I feel that this is more than fair for my skill level, and I will not haggle.

🎃 No added charge for color vs. black and white. They both take about the same amount of work.

🎃 Furries not available for soft shading because I suck at fur. Sorry. Really I suck at furries period, you may want someone more experienced. The only animals I can draw are cats and fish KDJFKLSDjflksdjf.

🎃 NSFW may have limits due to my mental health, please inquire before sending payment in general, but especially if you're worried it may push the envelope.

🎃 There will be added charges for certain things, like extra characters or more advanced backgrounds. See menu below.

🎃 Please put "commission" or something in the subject line; I get a lot of spam.

🎃 These commissions are for personal use, not commercial. It does not grant you the license to use on, say, stickers, prints, t-shirts, etc.

🎃 Please let me know if you use a currency other than USD.

What’s it like working with Sad Crow Man?

Odds are, as long as you send me all the above information, and it’s not an NSFW that triggers me or a furry that I’m convinced is outside my skillset, you will be approved. If I approve your commission, I’ll send you a quote. Before I start working, at least 50% of the payment is expected up front. While I only work on commissions 3 days a week, I tend to work quickly, so please have the full amount reserved to prevent any issues. As we work, I will send you progress shots throughout for your approval, so check your email frequently. After I finish working, you will be granted up to three revisions. After that, I will send an invoice for the rest. This invoice must be paid within 30 days.

In the event that I get a floodgate of commissions all at once again, you may be placed on a waiting list. This is to prevent me from irreversibly transforming into a cryptid and flying away to escape the stressors of the human world.

Basic Sketches

$20 for just the sketch. An extra $10 if you want some flat colors.

Portraits and Busts

A cel-shaded portrait or bust will cost $60. A simple background will be thrown in.

Hips up and Full Body

A cel-shaded torso-up or full body image of a single character will cost $100. A simple background will be thrown in.

Add-on: Soft Shading

Cel-shading is nice and all, but what if you want something a little softer? A little more realistic? The multiplier for this is z+2z=x, where z= the price of the single cel-shaded image, and x= the base price without any of the following add-ons.

...in other words, it's $120. for a soft shaded portrait.

...$200 for a full body portrait. Assuming there are no other add-ons

Add-on: Simple Backgrounds

For a simple background, the final price will be multiplied by 1.5.

So for an illustration like this:

1.5(100+(2(100)))+20=$470.

Add-on: Complex Backgrounds

Please don't do this to me. please don't request this. I have no idea how to do this. I just took a photograph of Philadelphia and painted over it.

...Well, if it's an interior or you send me a reference image for what you want, I can probably do that pretty easily. But I'm going to multiply the final price of the commission by 2. It's for my sanity, you see.

So for a portrait like this, 2(100+1(0.75(100)))=$350

Add-on: additional figures

There is a charge for each additional character in a piece. The formula for this is simple.

Where x = base price, and y=number of additional characters, total price = x+y(0.75x)

So a soft shaded portrait with 3 characters would cost $300 USD. The background isn't that complicated, so I'd be lenient and only charge a multiplier of 1.5, leading to a final charge of $450. Except I'd do a better job. Because, well. You know. It's not a halloween gag.

Don't worry about the math, I'll do that part. You'll see the quote before you ever see the invoice.

Add-on: Complex color scheme

Color schemes like this can take an hour or two for me to set up because of the way I work. An extra $20 fee will be applied for this.

Book covers, album covers, etc.
